Long before we came together under the Coherent Partners banner, we worked together in other companies. Working as a team, we got more done, were more creative and had more fun. Combining our skills in knowledge management, innovation, organizational development, marketing, and technology gave us new perspectives. We found we were more effective in responding to the all-too-common struggles that organizations face with new challenges, new processes, or new technology.

When we decided to build a consulting practice based on that cross-disciplinary approach to change and innovation, we began looking for a symbol of many threads brought together into something focused and effective. We settled on the image of a laser, in which random light waves become ordered into a coherent pattern forming a single beam of light that is very powerful.

The term "coherent" also describes a logical and consistent pattern of thought. We believe that the technology upheaval of the last decade is just getting started. The coming social and cultural changes will make what came before look like child's play. Clear thought that crosses traditional boundaries will be a requirement for any successful organization.

Those two ideas, a well-integrated multi-disciplinary approach, and clear and consistent advice on the complex changes before us, form the cornerstones of our practice.
